Suns/Mercury Foundation Celebrates ADP’s Literacy Through Basketball Partnership
Friendly House’s Academia del Pueblo Elementary is celebrating a special recognition from the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation. In a feature honoring Hispanic Heritage Month, the Foundation spotlighted our Literacy Through Basketball partnership and its support for opportunities that connect learning, teamwork, and school pride.

Connecting the Court and the Classroom
Literacy Through Basketball brings together the excitement of basketball and the power of reading. The partnership gives ADP students opportunities to strengthen their literacy skills while building confidence, practicing teamwork, and growing as leaders.
At its heart, the program connects two places where students can challenge themselves and support one another: the classroom and the basketball court. It reflects our commitment to creating opportunities that inspire students to keep learning and growing, in school and beyond.
A $10,000 Investment in Our Students
The Foundation’s $10,000 grant supports the continuation of this meaningful program. The accompanying photo captures ADP students gathered in the school gym with the grant check, celebrating an investment in their learning and their school community.
We are grateful to the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation for supporting our students and recognizing the rich culture of our school community. The Hispanic Heritage Month feature is an opportunity to celebrate that community and share the purpose behind Literacy Through Basketball with families, friends, and supporters.
The Foundation’s feature is available on the PHX Off-Court Instagram account. We invite our ADP families and community partners to watch and celebrate this recognition with us.
Thank you to our staff, partners, and supporters for helping create opportunities that inspire our students on the court, in the classroom, and beyond. Your support helps keep the focus where it belongs: on our students and the possibilities ahead of them.
Let’s GO ADP!
