A tradition of excellence

This dashboard includes new active cases for in-person learners and on-site staff for the week. If a student or staff member does not come to campus or District sites, school officials will not notify parents or staff of the active case, because there would be no close contacts.

Parent and Community Update

Welcome to the ADP Parent and Community Update page. Here you will find information on current and past communication to our school community. Should you have any questions, in regards to letters and updates on this page, please feel free to call the school, (602) 258-4353.

School attendance is not only a good habit, state law requires it.  Arizona State Law (15-802.A, 15-803.E) requires every person who has custody of a child between the ages of six and sixteen shall make sure the child attends school for the full time school is in session unless unable to attend due to illness or another legitimate reason.

To encourage and improve school attendance, Academia Del Pueblo has implemented a truancy program in partnership with Maricopa County Juvenile Court.  This truancy program is called C.U.T.S. (Court Unified Truancy Suppression) DIRECT-CITE Program.  We will be tracking attendance very closely.  Your child is expected to be at school every day, unless there is an excused reason not to be. An unexcused absence will count as a truant day as defined by law.  A student is "habitually truant" if he/she has five or more unexcused absences from school OR is absent more than ten percent (18 days) of the required number of school days per year whether the absence is excused or unexcused.

When a student has five or more unexcused absences or 18 excessive absences (excused OR unexcused), the student can be cited to the CUTS DIRECT-CITE Program through the Juvenile Court.  The hearing will be held at the Juvenile Court Facility.  Both parent(s) and the child will be expected to appear at the hearing.  Consequences at the hearing may include the following: required attendance of the parent and child at an education class (to be held on Saturdays), work hours assigned to the child, counseling, etc.  The parent will be assessed a $50 Diversion fee.  Failure to complete these consequences may result in the prosecution of the child at the Juvenile Court.  If you, as a parent, receive a citation for Failure to Provide Education to your child and are convicted, it is a Class 3 misdemeanor punishable by jail time and/or fine.

The education of your child is extremely important to us.  This program is another way that the Academia Del Pueblo is working with the community to ensure a quality education for all students.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child's school.

Parents wishing to attend a field trip as a chaperone must reach out to their child's teacher as soon as possible. All parents attending the field trip are required to complete a background check. For the background check, we will need the following information. Please send the following information to your child's teacher or front office.:

  • Full name

  • Date of birth

  • Email address

  • Phone number

Once the background check is cleared, we will notify the parent.  Please expect a wait time of at least 14 -30 days.  This process must be completed annually.

Bullying will not be tolerated in our school community. Bullying is contrary to Academia del Pueblo’s policy and to Arizona State law.

Bullying is prohibited:

  1. during any school-sponsored or school-sanctioned program or activity;

  2. in school, on school property, on school buses or other ADP provided transportation, and at designated locations for students to wait for buses;

  3. through the transmission of information via electronic communication from a ADP computer or computer network, or other electronic school equipment;

  4. when the behavior or communication occurs off campus or through the transmission of information from a computer that is accessed at a non-school related location, activity, function, or program or from the use of technology or an electronic device that is not owned, leased or used by the school if the bullying causes a substantial disruption to the educational process or orderly operation of a school and has one of the effects enumerated in the bullying definition. This paragraph applies only in cases in which a school administrator or teacher receives a report that bullying through this means has occurred and does not require ADP to staff or monitor any non-school-related activity, function, or program.

Definitions:

"Bullying," including "cyberbullying," means any severe or pervasive (repeated over time) physical or verbal act or conduct, including communications made in writing or electronically (i.e., cyberbullying), directed toward a student or students, that has or can be reasonably predicted to have one or more of the following effects:

  1. placing the student in reasonable fear of harm to the student's person or property;

  2. causing a substantially detrimental effect on the student's physical or mental health;

  3. substantially interfering with the student's academic performance; or
