The Extra Studies program is designed to help students who need a little extra “boost” and some one-on-one instruction in the area of math, science and reading. Students will be referred to this after school program by their teacher and will participate in a variety of new tutoring techniques to help  improve their grades.

The Honors Society Homework Club (HSHC) is a program designed for over achieving students who have A’s and B’s and provides a safe, quiet environment for students to complete homework. There are also opportunities to work on community and school projects, take field trips and meet with guest speakers.

The Academia del Pueblo Journalism Club (ADP JC’s) meets each week to enhance their listening, writing and creative communication skills. ADP has partnered with KNFX radio station and are part of the Young Reporters program as featured on ABC 15 News. Journalism Club students meet each week to work on interviewing techniques, then visit KFNX radio every other month to work hands-on in the studio interviewing prominent valley leaders. Parents and family members get to listen to their children’s radio segments played over the radio.

The ADP Student Council is a very special group of students who made a commitment to be the voice of their classmates and the voice of the school. Student Council meets once per week to discuss school issues, work on school projects and identify community volunteer opportunities. Student Council has the opportunity to visit other schools and take field trips to learn more about politics and becoming more effective leaders. Being a Student Council member looks great on a resume when applying for a first job as a teenager and gets students prepared to be involved in student council at their high school after middle school.

Academia del Pueblo has partnered with ASU to be part of a national program called America Reads and Counts. This partnership program between Arizona State University and Academia del Pueblo provides a high quality mentoring program that enriches learning opportunities for both college and elementary school students.
